Sunday 06 March 2005: ACTAA President's Message

The ACTAA must get its act together. If we are unable to get a quorum to our meetings we will be forced to disband the ACTAA.

The consequences of such an action will hurt the hip pocket nerve of all our members by about $40 per year. It will also diminish our voting power on the MAAA to near zero.

Each club in the former ACTAA would become just one club in a much more numerous state association be it Vic or NSW.

I firmly believe that we in the ACT can be better served by continuing our independence.

But if apathy continues we will have no alternative.

It is a very serious, grave situation that is within the capacity of ACT clubs to address collectively.

The next meeting of the ACTAA is at the Irish Club 8pm 11/3/05

Pre-AGM Message from Dave Roberts to Club Secretaries

All positions are up for Election so, please, to keep the Association running, cajole, beat or shanghai your members to be there and have a voice in, not only State issues but also National ones, or give your delegates your views or information on issues that may cause concern in the future.

If we are unable to keep the [ACT] Association running and [clubs are forced] join another State, we will have an immediate rise in Fees. All other State Association's fees are much higher than ours.
